This famous hidden café, located in a renovated storehouse, has been featured many times on Japanese TV. The owner, who also runs a design firm, personally designed and renovated the storehouse, which originally belonged to a textile company. The interior retains feel of the original storehouse in every corner. Stop by and delight in one of the owner’s specially created gratins while enjoying the view of the river.

Niu River (Tamagawa Gorge)

The Nyu River flowing through Tamagawa Gorge has gained popularity as one of the best scenic places in Kansai. The clear waters of the river weave through the peculiarly shaped rocks of the gorge, which is listed as a Wakayama Prefecture Designated Cultural Asset. Former Kayano house (Oishi Junkyoni Memorial Museum)

The Former Kayano House was built in the mid-Edo period as a satobo (monks' housing) of Koyasan Shinzoin Temple, and was used as such until the Meiji era. It was opened to the public in January 2010.
