Hinokuni shrine and Kunikakasu shrine, lying within the same temple precincts, were founded as much as 2600 years ago and boast a distinguished history within Japan.

The divine object worshiped at Hinokuni Shrine is the Higata Mirror, and the divine object worshiped at Kunikakasu Shrine is the Hiboko Mirror.

Since ancient times, these shrines have held the lofty status as among the most important shrines in the old province of Kii, and they have attracted many worshipers looking for such blessings as family safety or finding a good spouse.
